Computer Programming is the process of creating a set of instructions that tell a computer how to perform a task. Programming can be done using a variety of computer "languages," such as C, COBOL, Pascal, Fortran, SQL, Java, Python, C+, etc. There is no perquisite to learn computer programming. It will be good that before proceeding with learning programming aspirant should have at least basic understanding of computer, mathematics and logical reasoning. Students get to learn computer programming as part of syllabus of Computer Science/ IT graduation degree. Knowing programming language itself is not sufficient for IT development career. Basic computer science/IT degree is must for long term computer programming career. Computer Programmers were in huge demand for last decade. However, with advent of Artificial Intelligence and automation employment opportunities for computer programmers is projected to decline in next ten years. In dian IT industry prefer B.Tech computer science/IT or MCA for programmer roles. It is still one of the highest paid profession in India.

There is no specific eligibility criteria for learning Java and also there are no colleges who teach Java as a course. It is part of either B.Tech or BCA while pursuing a degree course. Anyone who wishes to learn java can get themselves enrolled in private institutes and learn it. Benefits of learning Java are mentioned below: - Java is an object-oriented programming language so you will get a basic idea of how an OOP works. - Java is used for developing Applets a great standard feature (An applet is a small Internet-based program written in Java, a programming language for the Web, which can be downloaded by any computer. The applet is also able to run in HTML. The applet is usually embedded in an HTML page on a Web site and can be executed from within a browser.). - The concept of pointers is invalid in JAVA as the programmer or user is denied direct interaction with the memory address as is possible in C and C+. - Java is platform-independent. - Java is free, simple, object-oriented, distributed, supports multithreading and offers multimedia and network support. - Unlike C and C+, Java programs are compiled independently of the platform in bytecode language which allows the same program to run on any machine that has a JVM installed.
