CPA is a CA equivalent of USA and good, only if you are planning to have a finance career in US or US based MNC First of all you should have completed 120 hours of course in business and accounting. Although it does not specify any degree, the understood notion is either you should have a 4 years degree in commerce i.e. B.Com or BBA or a 3 years B.Com and M.Com These are the minimum qualifications and easiest Apart from this, a CA, ICWA and CS are also eligible. A CA + CPA is a good combination Your M.Com, CA, ICWA, MBA and CS need to be evaluated by independent agency before enrolling into CPA programme. Every US state has an independent CPA board. This is a basic CPA requirement. You cannot take CPA exam in India, it is available in Qatar / UAE as a nearest centre for Indian. It is as tough as CA It's administered by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and was originally created to meet certain needs, the requirements to become a CPA differ from US state to US state Every state in U.S.A has different rules regarding the eligibility of candidates appearing for the examination. Foreign candidates ( including Indian candidates) have to get their academic qualifications evaluated by an independent agency, suggested by the state board, to confirm that h/she is eligible to appear for the CPA examination Indian Chartered Accountants are eligible to take the CPA exams from the state of Colorado without any foreign credential evaluation. I hope these information are sufficient to meet your query
