The qualification for the NET exam is minimum 55% marks in Masters degree from any recognized university or institute of India. As you have completed the MA in History, if you have got more than 55% marks in your Masters degree than you can surely apply for the NET exam. There is no age limit for the assistant professor posts while candidates applying for Junior Research Fellowship should be below 28 years old.
