Hello. There are two graduate law courses in India. One is integrated 5-year course like BA LLB, B.Sc LLB, B.Com LL.B, and BBA LLB. Another is 3-year LLB course. If you want to pursue integrated 5-year LLB course, then you need to qualify 10+2 from a recognized board with a minimum percentage of 45% marks for the candidates belonging from the general caste. If you fall within the ambit of reservation (S.C/S.T/O.B.C), then there is a relaxation of 5% marks in the aggregate. In such a case the reserved candidate needs to get 40% marks in his 10+2 level. Though the percentage varies from university to university. After that, one needs to clear the concerned entrance examination like AILET or CLAT or any other university entrances. While the second one is 3 years LLB course. For this course, you have to be a graduate from any University Grant Commission recognized university. Only clearing 10+2 with the requisite marks will not help in this course. Here, a candidate needs to score at least 50% marks in his graduation level. There is also a relaxation of 5% marks for the candidates belonging to the reserved community. Again, there will be a Law entrance examination and you need to clear that too.

The eligibility criteria to pursue LLB includes: The candidate must pass 10+2 from a recognized board with a minimum 45% marks for general category students and 40% marks for reserved categories. Also, you must be a citizen of India. In some cases, and for a 3-year LLB course, you need to have an undergraduate degree in any stream with a minimum 50% aggregate. For 5-year LLB, you need to take up various entrances such as CLAT or AILET or any other as the case may be. Also, a student appearing for class 12th board exams can also take entrances for 5-year LLB course. Moreover, CLAT has become a choice for many and 5-year integrated course is amongst the top courses alternatives in India. Apart from this, there might be an age criteria which has yet not been officially stated by the CLAT body, as there may be an upper age limit fixed for CLAT UG. Also, you may go for LLB through Distance learning, however which would just give you a degree for name, but you would not be able to practice before a court of law. So, for 5-year LLB, you need to take entrances after your class 12th, and for 3-years you need to have an undergraduate degree with minimum percentages mentioned. Apart from this, there is no other eligibility in general.
