India has the highest number of newspapers/news channels operating simultaneously. Obviously, good journalists are always in demand. Be a Journalist: You can start as a reporter/sub-editor in any news organisation (print/broadcast). Apart from newspapers, you can also consider news magazines. One other avenue is the online journalism, which has picked up in the last two years. News portals like Scroll.in and Quartz - India are experiencing decent traction among readers. Join as a copywriter: If you have good writing skills, you can join any advertising agency as a copywriter. If you do not get a job as a copywriter, you can start on your own as a freelance copywriter, which promises good money and respect. Work in PR: The last option is Public Relations, which many corporates need. Finally, it will be good to take up internship while you are still in the Masters programme. It will expose you to the day-to-workings of the organisation and let us take a fair decision on where you want to be. You bright future in this field completely depends on your dedication and passion you showcase the work you choose to do. You need to be very active if you enter in this field and need to have very good connections.
