1. Try to be creative. When you will write an essay or when you will answer a descriptive question try to show your creativity. Whatever you will write in the paper write intelligently. 2. Choose the subject for civil service main examination according to your stream of study. In which subject you have good knowledge choose only that subject. First, read the syllabus of each paper then choose the paper according to your knowledge. 3. Do not get tensed at the time of examination. If the question is tough then it is tough for everyone. So you should not worry about you. Whatever you will know just answer them. 4. Try to be prepared for English language paper. To do good in this paper you must have good knowledge of English. So you must be prepared very well for the English subject.

You should focus on most of the subjects where questions are being asked and for timing, you have to give at least 8 to 10 hours honestly. 2 hours is not sufficient. A common student should study for at least 8 hours.

Firstly, go through the syllabus and previous year question papers. This will give you an idea of the preparation strategy. Then, start reading a newspaper either The Hindu or Indian express. Cover NCERTs for all subjects. Then, go through the standard books and start answer writing practice. Get your answers evaluated from teachers or friends. Refer to magazines like Yojana and Kurukshetra for upcoming government schemes. Regarding prelims, learn data and factual stuff and keep revising as much as you can. And as for mains, focus on writing answers. Even if you don't have much content to write, don't get bogged down. Just keep up with the practice.
