M.Tech. in Applied Geophysics is a 2-year long postgraduate course aimed at preparing trained manpower in the field, to cater to the needs of Exploration and Production (E&P), and service providers in the field of geophysical exploration. The average tuition fee charged in India for the course ranges between INR 60,000 and 2 Lacs. Admission to the course is based on the candidates performance in a relevant entrance exam, such as GATE and TANCET, etc. Successful postgraduates of the course are hired in capacities such as Volcanologists, Petroleum Geologists, Environmental Geologists, Earth Science Teachers, Glacial or Quaternary Geologists, Structural Geologists and Hydrogeologists.
