NIT counselling is an online process. The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will be the responsible authority for the counselling and seat allotment of JEE Main 2017. JEE Main 2017 counselling and seat allotment will be held in seven rounds. JEE Main 2017 counselling and seat allotment will be not be conducted separately but will be collectively conducted through JoSAA 2017 for 31 NITs, 23 IIITs and 20 GFTIs, which are the participating institutes of JEE Main 2017. The joint counselling and seat allotment of JEE Main 2017 will be conducted online, while registration (option entry), starting from the June 15, 2017. The first round of seat allotment will be announced on June 28. Those candidates who are successfully allotted seats will have to pay the seat acceptance fee and verify their documents at the designated Reporting Centres. Only the qualifying candidates of JEE Main 2017 will be able to participate in JEE Main 2017 counselling and seat allotment.
