The Government of India has massive expansion plans in shipping industry. The government is planning to increase the present contribution of shipping in GDP from around 23 percent to around 10 percent. Port expansion, new ports, Sagarmala project and inland waterway project is being taken up in a big way. In coming 5-10 years, we may have lots of job opportunities in the shipping industry. Yes, there is a lot of scope for marine engineering in India in future.
