Well to be honest, investing 11 lakhs for ITM is not worth. Average salary package is around 5-6lacs and very few of them get packages more than 10 lakhs, which too is in international currency. Designation offered are floor managers and operation managers which requires working on weekends too. If you are quite passionate, then no one will stop you but keep in mind the above parameters. All the best.

Retail sales today are the major contributor to the revenue of a business. Everything we see selling around us involves retail operations. Education in retail management offers a wide scope after MBA, as most MBA aspirants in India land up in sales jobs despite studying in fields like Marketing, Finance, HR, Insurance, International business, etc. Whereas, MBA in Retail will offer a broader range of job opportunities in the service industry in India and abroad, as long as the candidate has the right attitude and skills. Those trained in Retail Management courses will surely have an edge over others as the preferred employees of the organized retailers. Some of the key areas where the Retail management course cover are: 1.The evolution of world retailing 2.Retailing in the world and India 3.Retailing Concepts 4.Retail Marketing 5.Retail Store Operations 6.Information Technology & Internet in Retailing 7.Fundamental accounts & Finance in retailing 8.Pricing, Promotions & Markdowns in Retailing 9.Supply Chain Management in Retailing According to the statistics, 90 million new jobs will be created in the next 5-7 years in India, of which, 50% (45 million) will be created in the service sector. Retailing in various types and forms will be a major employing sector. Moreover, If large global retailers like IKEA, TESCO, Wal-Mart open their stores across India, the global standard of retailing is expected to reach India soon with all its benefits including better industry practices and training, better salary packages and promising career opportunities in retail management. An average salary of a Department Manager in a Retail Store is about Rs 3 lakhs per annum and for Retail Store Manager is about Rs 4 lakhs per annum. But with this kind of growth projected in retail market, you will have to the final call about the investment needed to go for this course. For more details on this, please refer the link:
