Hotel Concierge have following responsibilities: (a) Welcoming customers upon entrance and confirm reservations (b) Acting as the point of reference for guests who need assistance or information. Attentively communicating with guests. (c) Attending to the wants and needs of guests. It includes understanding customers’ needs and provide them with personalized solutions by suggesting activities and facilities provided by the hotel (d) Communicating with guests and others over the phone, the internet, and in person. (e) Providing information about the facilities and the surrounding areas, such as the best possible routes from one point to another, whether by taxi, foot, private vehicle, or public transportation. (f) Booking guests for different events, making reservations or helping them purchase tickets. (g) Making appointments or creating guest itineraries.

In a five star hotel a concierge has the following duties and responsibilities – 1) Managing Airport Pick up and Drop services 2) Providing hotel car/ private taxi to the guest if the guest demands. 3) Suggesting places to visit in the city to the guest. 4) Suggesting places to eat in the city to the guest 5) Booking Movie, Concert, Fest, Conference, etc. 6) Booking airline tickets and train tickets. 7) Getting things the guest requires from the super market 8) Training the concierge desk staff. 9) Supervising all the functions of concierge desk. 10) Concierge also calls doctor if the guest is sick and requires a doctor.

A full menu of services is provided to each employee with hours of operation and contact information. Many of the larger corporate concierge businesses use an online portal through which employees can utilise the service.
