Law Graduates married/ unmarried men and unmarried women are eligible for grant of Short Service Commission in the Indian Army for Judge Advocate General Branch. Indian Navy and Indian Air Force do not hire law graduate directly. Initial shortlisting of online applications is done at Recruiting Directorate Army Headquarters. Two stage selection procedure based on Psychological Aptitude Test is held at Selection Centres. All the candidates face stage one test on first day of reporting at Selection Centres. The candidates who fail to pass stage one are returned on the same day. Candidates who qualify stage one are retained for stage II test comprising of Group Test, Psychological Tests and Interview which may extend for a duration of 4 days(excluding stage-I day). The candidates who qualify at the Service Selection Board and are found medically fit by a Medical Board are placed in order of merit. The final selection is made in that order up to the number of vacancies available at that time. BA LLB graduates can also join Defence services in non legal branches of three arms where eligibility criteria is graduation degree. .
