It completely depends on the course you are planning to do, and along with the computer skills, you should also possess the following skills to be a good animator: Good observational skills Creativity Drawing / sketching skills Patience and Concentration Ability to get into character Communication skills (to interact with team) Eye for detail Computer and Software skills Teamwork skills Animation courses are available in three formats: Bachelor’s Degree courses Diploma courses Certificate courses If you are undergraduate, and planning for a graduate degree in Animation, then Students who have passed 10+2 (any stream- Science, Commerce or Arts) from a recognized board are eligible to pursue this course. Minimum marks criteria may exist in case of some institutes (around 50% marks).Bachelor’s Degree programs are UG Degree courses. The course duration is 3 years. For Diploma courses, Diploma programs generally last for a period of 1 year. But, course duration may vary from one institute to another. Some institutes offer even 6 months long Diploma courses. Certificate courses are not as detailed as Bachelors or Diploma courses. Still, if you are just an enthusiast and want to get the taste of things, pursuing Certificate course will be a good step forward. Duration: Certificate programs duration depends on the institute. Course duration could be anywhere between 3-6 months. Eligibility: Students who have passed 10th standard are eligible to pursue certificate courses. Other than the three course formats mentioned above, enthusiasts may also attend animation workshops and learn skills related to this profession.
