That depends on which entrance exam you choose to write. For both KCET and COMED-K, you would need a rank of about 1000-1300 to get in through the first round. However, if you are lucky, you can get in through the second round with a rank of about 2500-3000. Also, if you are very insistent on joining MSRIT and you don't get a Mechanical Engineering seat, you can pick another branch, because the coursework for the first year is common to all branches. If you do exceedingly well in the first year, MSRIT offers you an option for a branch change.
