Both degrees are of 2 years duration and full time. MMS stands for Masters in Management Studies and is a 2 year management degree program that is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). MBA stands for master in business administration is a 2 year degree course that is designed to fulfill industry’s demands and includes in-depth study of subjects like marketing, finance, HR, operations, and in case of Welingkar Rural, Retail, Healthcare, Media Entertainment, Business Analysis. Differences in both courses at Welingkar are: 1) Mode of admission/Eligibility: To be eligible for MMS one needs a high MH CET Score (minimum 99 percentile) no other score is considered. Once the CET score list is out, students fill in their application via DTE site and the CAP round process begins and depending on the CET score one gets their college allocated to them. No GD-PI process. In case of PGDM CAT, ATMA, CMAT, XAT, CET either of any of these scores is considered and after clearing psychometric test and GD-PI process one can get admission in PGDM courses at Welingkar. 2) Curriculum: For MMS the curriculum is designed by university and exams are held semester wise. For PGDM the curriculum is set by the college and updated regularly. Exams are conducted in trimester pattern. 3) GCL- Under the Global Citizen leadership program PGDM students get the opportunity to work on industry Projects 4) Fee structure: The fees for MMS is Rs 5.58 lakhs and PGDM is Rs 11.6 lakhs. Placement is centralized across both PGDM and MMS courses.
