One year of preparation is enough to clear JEE Mains but you need to follow a good strategy and have to do smart work rather than doing traditional hard work. You need to make plans and have to implement them in your daily life. I will suggest you to make your own strategy because only you have to handle it. I can only give you suggestions. The strategy you should follow to crack JEE Mains in one year: *In first 8 months 1.Try to cover each and every topic. Don't run behind the syllabus. Just try to practice more and more questions (Quality questions). 2.Avoid all the disturbing elements or things which distract you. Say good bye to social sites like Facebook, Whatsapp, etc. 3.Don't underestimate NCERT, especially for chemistry. Learn each and every point of it (only in chemistry). 4.Study physics for atleast 3 hours in a day and solve maths for 5-6 hours. *In last 4 months 1 Solve previous years papers daily. You can also solve mock papers. 2.Start mugging all the formulas and reactions. 3.You can join test series of any reputed coaching institute. 4.Never lose hope even if your preparation is not complete. 5.Try to solve papers between 9 am to 12 noon (as JEE exam is generally held between 9-12 o'clock) Go and start your preparation. Early start will fetch you some extra time. All the best!

One year is a sufficient time period to study and clear JEE Mains with a good score. See, very important thing is how you can perceive your studies. If you can surely read books and make good notes then it’s fine, otherwise, get correspondence courses from some good coaching institutes or if you are a dropout or you have less school load, join a coaching. Anyways, it's totally up to you how you are able to catch up with your subject. Your choice. Now, coming to the preparation strategy. Actually, the course is a bit large, so learning new things is as important as revising old concepts. So, search and go for recommended books for each topic. Start with building (yourself) a good timetable that has time for these four things: 1: Learning new concepts (week days) 2: Time for practice (week days) 3: Revising old concepts (weekends) 4: Mock tests (once a fortnight or even on weekends if you can spare a three-hour shift) Learning new things: You shall have to study a topic to fundamentals. Make sure that you have your concepts crystal clear. This shall make learning very easy because many topics are interrelated. Also, refer good books and you can find online lectures that definitely shall build and clear your concepts. Practice: Practice is the important factor. Concepts need to have been applied. It is a complete waste to just get on with concepts and skip practicing questions. Most questions in JEE Mains are numerals and unless you have a good practice of numerical, you shall be stuck in the examination and would end up taking more time on a question than it is expected. Revision: As syllabus is pretty large, make sure that you carry on with the new concepts as well as brush up old concepts. Make quality notes that you are able to apprehend easily because for last 15 days before the exams, it is recommended to stop where ever you are and just focus on old concepts and try to remember old stuff (especially in chemistry where there are a lot of topics that you have no option but just to learn stuff). Mock Tests: These are the most vital and the most important things. Keep checking how much you have learned. Are you able to attempt full paper in three hours? This is kind of introspection. See what topics are you deficient in. Also, check yourself for your accuracy or negative markings. Mock tests are the only reflection of your preparations. After you are done with your preparations, give last 15 days for revision and you definitely shall score well.

Cracking JEE in 1-year if a reasonable target and therefore can be achieved. I recommend the following 1. Building a study timetable with adequate time for self-study and practice. 2. In case you want to join a coaching you can join a 1-year weekend course. 3. You must join a test series which will help you track whether you are following the right path of preparation and where should you change your strategy 4. Revise what you study, this is to be done regularly followed with tests of the part you covered and analysis of the test. You must finish your syllabus and test series before your boards. Focus on your boards and after boards give the test every day along with thorough analysis. Last 15 days should be spent revising.
