IIMC is a premier institution in India for journalism and media studies. There is a strategy and sincere preparation to qualify and join them. You must be aware of the structure of the Entrance Test which tests general English, GK/GS, mental aptitude/reasoning, analytical and comprehension skills, media related general knowledge, etc. The entrance needs thorough reading of some books that covers the syllabus. You may think of taking help of some trainer as well. I wish to guide about GD and interview because these two are the grey areas where most of the applicants fall short of the standards of IIMC. A few skills needed to be at JNU and IIMC: 1. Extensive interest in reading. 2. Clear speech and fluency in English with excellent communication skills. 3. Current affairs awareness to impress in the group discussion. 4. Interview questions readiness by making a strong resume which prepares you in a proper manner for the interview. Prepare yourself for your introduction. Avoid taking sides and present a mature and neutral stance in the interview if some discussion comes. The ratio of marks is shared as 85 percent for entrance and 15 percent for interview and GD.
