It depends on you, whether you want to pursue your career in more of a technical work or get into management. For specialising in a technical degree, go for M.Tech and for management, you can go for MBA. There are many specialisations in which you can do M.Tech after completing your B.Tech in civil engineering like: 1. Environmental engineering. 2. Structural engineering with specialisation in offshore structures. 3. Pipeline engineering. 4. Computational fluid dynamics. My personal choice is structural engineering as it has very good career prospects and job opportunities. To pursue this specialisation you can go for NIT - Calicut or UPES - Dehradun. UPES - Dehradun has a pen-paper test being held on 12th August 2016 for on the spot admissions, which you can check on their website. Both of these are best bets and have good placements opportunities. For MBA, I think construction or infrastructure management is the best specialisation for civil engineering graduates. NICMAR (Pune, Hyderabad and Goa campus), UPES - Dehradun and MIT - Pune are some of the best bets to pursue this course. These have good infrastructure, exposure, faculty support and placement cells.
