Being a chef is one of the most important parts of a hotel. You must know most of the multi cuisines of the world because in 5-star hotel and resorts, the guests come from different parts of the world and chef is usually paid almost equal to the GM. To know these things and become a chef, you need to do the BHM or DHM (B means Bachelor's, D means Diploma in Hospitality/hotel management) then you need do PG but for being a chef in your 3rd year, you will be asked to choose the preferred department there you need to take the food and production department. Although this is only for formalities sake, you need to develop your own skills means try doing new different cuisines, attend workshops based on production, try to have contact with other different chefs from different regions. Hope it would be helpful for you.
