You can prepare for various government jobs like for junior engineer, GATE preparation, civil services. Join any coaching class and prepare, and can do M.Tech for higher studies.

After Diploma in Civil Engineering, you should continue with the civil branch by doing B.Tech in civil engineering, but there are other options available, if you don't like engineering.

You can do Degree in Engineering. You can directly take admission in 2nd year of B.Tech Civil. Nowadays there are lots of job opportunities for Civil Engineering Diplomaholders in Infrastructure projects. You will be able to get reasonable and good civil engineering junior level jobs on completion of Diploma in Civil Engineering. You are also eligible to seek lateral entry admission in any branch of Engineering in 2nd year in an engineering college by appearing in LEET Examination. You can also do AMIE while on job to become an engineer. If you do not have any personal or financial constraints, you may opt for lateral entry admission in B.Tech for better career opportunities and growth.
