Well, if you've heard for reliable sources like The Hindu or the Economic Times it is true. The salary at the top 3 IIMs are very high. Before I mention the salaries, let me start by saying that there are two types of placements: The Summer Placements: These are internships and salary may range from a few Lacs to even 10,000 per month and is for a period of two to three months. This internship may turn into a full time job based on your performance. Final Placements: The type of job you get depends on your two years you spent at IIM, your grades, your extra-curriculars and internship. Your final placement salary may range from One Crore to 50,000 or so per month and it depends on the IIM you study in also. Here are the median and the highest salaries offered to students by companies last year (2015) at IIM-, IIM-B and IIM-C. IIIM-A: the highest salary:1.38 crore and 70 Lacs as the highest international salary Median Salary:average domestic salary would be about 18 Lacs. IIM-B: the highest salary: the highest domestic salary was 53 Lacs whereas, the highest international salary was 73.38 Lacs. Median Salary:average domestic salary would be about 18-20 Lacs.
