NAEMD/NAME/NIEM are good institutes for setting a career in event industry because it gets you internships in event management companies, some general theory about events as well as contacts with other people in the industry. Having said that, the experience is the only way up in the event management industry. You will start as an intern (mostly paid nothing or very little for your help) to begin with. As you get better and get more events done, you can move up the ladder - probably take up a full-time position at one of these companies. Be ready for a lot of competition and a lot of hard, on-the-field work (just like any other job out there).
