A doctoral degree is the final step to master a particular stream or subject through research and detailed study of all aspects. A Ph.D degree in mass comm. and that too on the subjects of corporate communication and public relations can be pursued from any university which has the valid approvals of UGC and other bodies. However, when it comes to the quality of research guidance there has to be a smart and correct selection. A number of Universities offer Ph.D in India. There are private universities as well. It is suggested that, it may not be a matter of corporate communication or PR but the quality and reputation is more important. Any university, with a good standing and faculty can do the best in the mentioned domain of media. IITs and IIMs have humanities Ph.D seats and along with them JNU, Jamia Millia Islamia, DU, Symbiosis, BHU, and other reliable names of Indian higher education are to be chosen for the purpose.

As far as emerging field like public relation is concerned, it's unfortunate that there is no such university in India that provides a Doctorate degree in public relations or corporate communication. But! As PR is a stream that falls under business and media too you can fill Ph.D application in any of the top university that provides Ph.D in media or business and make PR, corporate communication, social media or advertising your subject of study! I too am a Ph.D aspiring student in the same field and so far I have researched about it this is the best thing one can do. When Ph.D in this field will actually be introduced, people can do it under you. Hope it helped. All the best!
