B.Tech is also a degree course. The duration of this course is of 4 years. Many colleges also offer lateral entry that is admission to the second year. But for this, you must do B.Sc or Diploma. For getting admission to B.Tech programme, you have to appear for the entrance exam whether it is of a government or private exam. According to me, B.Tech is better than the degree if your college is a government college (IIIT, NIT or IIT). Otherwise, a degree course is better than B.Tech.
