Dear, it will depend on your interest as both the branches are good. If you have an interest in the software world, computer science engineering rules and when it comes to the core world, its the mechanical engineering. Both of these fields are entirely different. If you are interested in the computer applied field, go for computer science and if working with engines and modelling suits you the best, then go ahead with the mechanical. There is no gender restriction for admission to either of these fields and coming to employment opportunities, both have a bright scope, provided you score well and come out with no history of arrears. So introspect yourself. Decide what suits you the best and go ahead. Be confident with your decision and you would rock. All the very best.

CSE is the best option in B.Tech. It gives a bright future where as mechanical is also good but it is a core course.

CS and ME, both are completely different streams, and doesn't have anything in common. While the latter focuses on analytical skills, and problem solving skills, your drawing vision and your interest to work with machines, CS on the other hand will mainly check your programming mettle, besides networking. In India, the job prospect of a CS graduate is more, compared to ME, owing to the presence of a large number of IT companies and their demand for man source. So even if you don't make it to a tier-1 college, you will land a decent job, most preferably in an IT major/MNC. Though the salaries will differ a lot from that of tier-1 colleges. On the other hand, there ain't a lot of core companies (for ME). So, even if you are not in an tier-1 college it won't matter. You have to be exceptionally good in your curriculum, score high and develop deep understanding of the subject. As most of the top core companies recruits through GATE, its open to students from all colleges to try their luck out. And besides, you have to study a lot more, and work harder in ME than in CS to land a job. And if you don't make it to the top companies, the salary will disappoint you highly. So, if you are hard working and have a genuine love for machines, go for ME, else go for CS, being a little sincere will get you through a decent job. Computer Science & Engineering stream is the best for a bright future and offer good salary in India as well as abroad. In Rajasthan, many colleges/institutes are affiliated to RTU, Kota like SKIT, Anand ICE, Jaipur & JECRC, etc.

I would like to give the answer in this manner. Both are good branches and offer a lot of opportunities after completing the education. This selection depends on below choices. 1.What are you interested in pursuing, what kind of job would you prefer after graduation a desk job or physical intensive job? As far as I know, I am providing below details regarding both branches. Computer science: provides more starting salary packages, chances to go abroad are high. You will be working in top cities in India like Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, etc. Mechanical engineering: Entry level salaries are less. However, after you get some experience, you will get salaries equal to computer science. Good number of government jobs are available. Experience is the key in mechanical engineering.

Both branches (mechanical and computer science and engineering) are good. But, the placement depends upon the qualities and the overall performance throughout your education. But some of the top ranking colleges provide good placements. Anand ICE has proven itself as one of the best computer engineering colleges in Jaipur, Rajasthan by providing best understanding of subject and highest packages in reputed organisations.
