CSE definitely has better records so go for that and IT is going a bit down nowadays as I heard but still nothing is bad, The final decision depends on you.

CSE is, of course, having a high placement of nearly 100% and IT is also having a nice placement.

Both IT and CSE offer good and demanding career but the priority is given to CSE as compared to IT.

India B Tech doesn't teach enough industrial knowledge. For placements, you have to gain industry related knowledge. You have to also understand the changing demands of the industry now there is demand for Android, IOS, Python, ruby, etc. When I was doing engineering that time there was high demand for JAVA, Oracle, etc. but now there is not much demand for them and also everybody knows JAVA, Oracle, etc.
