From job perspective, CSE is good but Mechanical is one of the core branches in which the jobs are always available after 1-2 years experience.

Both courses are good at their respective places. It is you who has to introspect yourself in which field you want to make career and if we compare both mechanical and CSE then I would suggest you to go with CSE rather than mechanical because with every business and organisation going digital, IT sector today is a booming field as compared to other sectors and there is a huge demand of computer science engineers and programmers.

Usually there are better prospects for higher package when it comes to computer science but other branch people learn coding and related stuff and can dominate computer science students in placements because some software companies are open to branches other than computer science. So, even mechanical students have prospects of a better software job while having many other opportunities in their own branch.
