Both the courses have a very wide scope but according to my personal choice, I would suggest you to go for CSE. Computer Science engineering is a great field to study in and plan a future along. I would suggest you to either opt for B.Tech in CSE with specialisation in Oil and Gas or Cloud Computing. Both these specialisations have a great scope in India and all across the globe. While the rising demands in oil and gas in the national and international market has increased growth in oil and gas industries, there is an increasing demand of professionals who are equipped with cloud computing skills as organisations are increasingly switching towards automation. I would recommend you to check the prospectus of UTM, Shillong as it offers industry aligned programs in CSE.

Both the courses are equally good, if you are good in mathematics and science, then you can go for mechanical. If programming or messing with computers interests you, then you must go for CSE. I would suggest you to choose mechanical, though it is a core branch and offers wide career prospects chances are even an IT firm would hire you after completing mechanical engineering.

CSE, no doubt, has better scope than mechanical engineering because there are a lot of mechanical engineers available now but the jobs for them are less in number.

Siddhu don't go with which stream is better. Go with what you want do after studying B.Tech. You may take following considerations. If you like computer, want to build crazy application or something related to software go with Computer Science engineering. If you like playing with machines/motors or electricity go ahead with Mechanical engineering. Or Electrical engineering. If you are India, after studying Electronics and communication engineering most of the students gets job/work in IT companies. Only few percent gets chance in electronics companies. So I would suggest, better to study Computer Science engineering. If you want to sail through vast sea go with Marine engineering. If you have not decided what you want to do after B.Tech, sit for one or two days and decided what you want to do. If still confused, select any of the engineering mentioned in point # 1, 2 and 3 (Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronics). Best of luck.
