First of all, don't go for engineering. If you are running away from such an interesting subject like physics, then trust me, during your engineering, you are going to get some subjects, which will totally frustrate you and you would feel like why the bloody hell did you choose engineering, so just think about your interest before opting for any branch. Think about the hurdles that you'll have to go through that particular branch for 4 years and ask yourself will you be able to come over them. So, conclusion is that you should know about what you actually want to achieve and then act according to that.
