Bioinformatics is becoming very popular nowadays and active research is being undertaken by many institutes. I would suggest that you sit down and do some research on Bioinformatics and information security. See which field suits you better. Since it is an emerging field and a lot of people don't know about it, there is vacancy in bioinformatics. So, if you want to pursue higher education, complete your doctorate and become a researcher, then go for bioinformatics but if you want to get a job after college then go for information security. Although you will face steeper competition in the field of information security. From the perspective of career, both are equally good, one might have a bit more competition and the other might have a bit less competition, but both require extreme hard work.
