Both of them have good scope but if you are good in physics then mechanical is best for you.

Both mechanical and civil engineering have equivalent scope and opportunities in the market now and most importantly in developing countries.

Both the branches have same value. Mechanical may give little more salary than civil. But, if consider the growing infrastructure industry of our country, civil gives you 99% assurance of job. You just mentioned that you are good in physics, so one more branch I would like to suggest you is electronics, which is good if you are very passionate in physics.

Mechanical is the best branch. It is a combination of various branches such as automobile, and mechatronics.

I agree with Kishan Singh Rathod as in India, the infrastructure is growing up rapidly. So, I would suggest you to opt for civil engineering than mechanical.

See, Every branch has its own scope. It depends on what you can do. Mechanical field deals with motors and civil deals with building, designing and construction. So, if you are good in physics, you can go for mechanical. If you like motors and their structure, and if you are good in drawing, you can go for civil. Remember, all the fields hold its own position.
