Scope of employment: Government Organisations such as PWD, Highways, Railways, Airways and Water. Construction Companies such as L&T, HCC, TECHNIP, GMR, SP, ESSAR, CCCL and TCE. Research and Development Organisations. I'll break it down for you. Placements: At SRM, the highest placement record is from Lafarge India and the company provided a remuneration of 11 lakhs to a candidate in the year 2011. Most core companies in the field of Civil engineering at SRM pay anything between 3 to 6 lakhs. Same average is for VIT also. Infrastructure: Owing up to civil branch, you get to study in the most recent and developed building in SRM. For VIT, you have no such developments for the civil majority. Fees: While the overall annual sum you need to pay is somewhat higher than what you pay at VIT. But, it totally depends on you as to how you score in your SRMJEE, with which you can score as low as 1,25,000 excluding scholarship and waivers. Ranking and reputation: VIT ranks among the top 6 colleges in the private sector all over India while SRM features 11th on the list. Faculty: No comparison can be drawn on faculty as you come across every kind of professors throughout and every teacher in both the universities are atleast M.Tech qualified. Hope you make the right decision.
