Well, both are the best state government engineering colleges of Maharashtra. Veermata Jijaba Technological Institute and College of Engineering, Pune are considered among the best government engineering colleges other than central government engineering colleges. It's very hard to say which one is better. Both the colleges are equally good. I may have preferred COE, Pune over VJTI, Mumbai because of its faculties. Placement is similar for computer engineering in both the colleges. Location wise, some people choose Mumbai over Pune. Companies like DE Shaw, E-Bay, etc. visit COEP. You will get a lot of opportunities there.

COEP and VJTI both have a great statistics when it comes to the placement of computer and IT branches. All reputed companies come to both these colleges. VJTI also offers a course in MAC. which is surprisingly not known by many students. For B.Tech in computer engineering, specifically, COEP is suggested because of its location which is in Pune. And, Pune is developing as the IT hub. Most of the companies are located here. So anyway, you will be posted in Pune for sure.
