NIT Durgapur : Pro : Same state and hence same language and other facilities. Very old institution with high reputation. Con : Very high level of reservation ( 50+ % )and hence drop in student quality. Same state with 50+% people from same state hence not a great level of national exposure ( important based on aspirations to partake in a pluralistic scoiety ). BITS Hyderabad : Pro : Location is Hyderabad ( relatively close to Chennai ). No reservation and decent cutoffs and hence great student quality. Exposure to people from all states of the country ( was really great ). Emerging campus and hence a great deal of learning in the process. Great alumni network ( BITS has possibly India's best ). BITS has better brand recognition. Individual rooms and no attendance -&get; great deal of privacy. Con : Newer Campus and hence facilities are still being updated. Slightly more expensive. Need to learn new language (s). Adapting to food and culture.

Sastra University is the best compared to the other colleges. It has good academic reputation and also has good placements in mechanical engineering. So work well and hope for the best.

Between BITS Goa, NIT Durgapur and SASTRA University, NIT Durgapur is better in terms of fees and placement.

I'll prefer you to opt for the BIT Goa as this campus is the best in all the other colleges that you have mentioned above in terms of placements of mechanical engineering.
