To become a news anchor, show host, analyst or a TV reporter, you need to have a bachelor's degree in mass comm, English, political science, psychology etc. You need not do a specific diploma or degree. The basic requirement are excellent inter-personal capability, very good oral and written communication, objectivity, determination, familiarity with video and digital cameras and mobile broadcasting equipment, ability to use social media applications and database programs such as Microsoft Access and FileMaker Pro. A good voice and pleasant personality is obviously a fundamental requirement. Some top institutes offering courses in broadcast journalism are: 1. Indian Institute of Mass Communication 2.
