B.Sc is more like limited when compared to B.Tech. B.Tech is what most of the employers look for nowadays. B.Sc maths can be a good foundation for something interesting ahead.

If given a choice between these two courses, I will suggest you to go for B.Tech because of the following reasons: Syllabus: You will get an opportunity to learn a lot because of comparatively bigger and vast syllabus than B.Sc. Industry exposure: Almost all of the B.Tech courses have some kind of industry exposure for the student, however this is not that common in B.Sc. Mathematical skills: This is from my experience, I have seen B.Tech graduates to have better mathematical knowledge than B.Sc graduates. This is the reason behind most of the graduates from IIMs being engineers. Employability: It seems B.Tech graduates seems to have an advantage, however I do not have any statistics available to verify this statement. Focus on practical and application: B.Tech courses are more focused towards application of skills learned during the course, whereas B.Sc is heavy on the theory part. This is the reason why you see a lot of scientists and mathematicians are B.Sc graduates. Best colleges for the same are: 1. IIT. 2. DTU. 3. UTM – Shillong.

Both the courses are completely different. B.Tech is a technical line. If you are really interested in higher studies and good with Mathematics, then you should definitely go for B.Sc. But, from placement and job point of view, B.Tech is pretty good.
