You should opt for B.Sc. It is a better option for you.

For IAS, BA would be a better choice.

If you think about IAS, you should go for BA because the syllabus of UPSC is basically around that history economics, geography and polity. So, if you are going to civil services as a career. So, do BA.

Obviously BA will help you more than B.Sc. as BA includes those subjects which are really important from UPSC point of view. For instance History is an important subject for UPSC and also a part of syllabus of BA. Basically it's based on your decision but if you are quiet serious about IAS then I think You should opt BA as a better choice among these two.

If your destination is IAS then any recognised graduation will make you eligible.

It depends on your interest. To appear for UPSC exam (for IAS exam), it is compulsory to have at least one degree but it can be any degree and there are no restrictions. So you take any degree among BA and B.Sc. I can give one suggestion that, you just take a course that helps you to get a good job even if you don't clear UPSC. Please don't think I'm discouraging you, as it is a tough one to crack and many have failed in the first attempt, it is better to study a course that offers a better job even if you don't get IAS.
