Mechanical engineering is called an evergreen branch as Mechanical Engineers do find placement opportunities in almost every sector in industry. But, computer industry although hit by recession on occasions in the past also offer promising prospects for job aspirants. Lets hope for the best.

Pankaj, Both are amazing fields. For someone who loves computers and programming, computer Science will be better. If you like applying logic and solving puzzles, you would enjoy computer Science. However, if you love machines, and enjoy making something physical using your creativity, you would enjoy Mechanical engineering. Mechanical Engineering is a hardcore engineering field. There are ample opportunities in both. You must sit and think what would you love to do in future - Make softwares or work with machines.
