In order to become a pilot in India, it is essential to have Commercial Pilot License (CPL) to fly commercial aircrafts carrying passengers and cargo. You will be required to do CPL training along with Multi-Engine Rating. In India, you will usually get 200250 flying hours. Once you gain the flying hours, you can apply for various airliners and get selected. There are two ways through which you can get your training done. - Choose a flying school, get your CPL done, apply for various airliners, get your Type rating done and become a pilot. - Cadet Pilot Programs: I find it highly useful as you will be given Letter Of Intent (LOI) even before the training commences. CTC, CAE Oxford and FTA offer Cadet Pilot programme. It is worth it.
