Actually both are good. It depends upon your taste. In placement wise ECE is little better than IT as it has more offers in the public sector. Also ECE is considered to be somewhat of an evergreen branch. If you do specialization after doing B.Tech in ECE, there is a great demand in the market for such people. Also ECE person can get a job in IT but this is not the same level as a job an IT Engineer can get. IT also has very good placements and the average salary is higher than ECE. But, it is not an evergreen branch.
