Chemical engineering deals with the design, development of processes and operation of machines and plants through which the physical or chemical state of materials undergo various changes. Founded on the principles relating to chemistry, physics, and mathematics, chemical engineering finds application in process industries.Mechanical engineering is the discipline that applies engineering, physics, and materials Science principles to design, analyze, manufacture, and maintain mechanical systems. It is one of the oldest and the broadest of the engineering disciplines. Which branch to choose depends on you. I would suggest you to take Aptitude Test. It finds out one's interest. Also it depends in which type of industry you want to work. Both mechanical and chemical engineers have to work on field. There is very less work from home. Also talk to your mentor or a good teacher how really knows about engineering and have previous Experience. Also compare the syllabus of these two branches see the subjects. Then decide which to choose. Read about these two branches know them better and then decide. The subjects for first year are same for all branches. Subjects change from 2nd Year.
