Mechanical engineering is the evergreen branch. I am a mechanical engineer too. But, electrical engineering also is know for its heights. Thapar University is known for providing a a good scope in both but a bit more in mechanical.

Mechanical Engineering is considered as one of the best departments in Thapar University. If you are getting it go for it. In terms of opportunities Mechanical Engineering from Thapar is far far better than Electrical. All the best.

Well, that depends on you only in which subject you have more interest. But as my point of view I would suggest to take Mechanical because after Mechanical engineering you get vast option for your career compared to that of Electrical Engineering. So, I recommend you to take Mechanical Engineering.
