How to Get Admission in Master of Science [M.Sc] (Geology) The major mode of admission to M. Sc. Geology is through the entrance exam conducted by the respective university and colleges. The general format of the entrance exam is objective type multiple choice questions and on the basis of the performance in the entrance exam, students are granted admission. While, there are some colleges like St. Xaviers College, Mumbai which takes students on the basis of their performance in the undergraduate program. The admission is purely on the basis of merit in colleges which do not conduct entrance exams. Selection Process: The colleges which conduct the entrance exam select the students on the basis of their performance in the entrance exam. The entrance exams test their basic knowledge about geology. The colleges which do not conduct entrance exam select candidates on the merit basis and their criterion of selection is based on the academic achievements of the students and the marks obtained by them in their undergraduate course.
