B.Tech form BITS Pilani is far far better than VIT, Vellore. BITS Pilani is five decades old engineering institute with international known brand image and is on par with legacy IITs. It's Pilani campus has world class teaching facilities and excellent faculty. Placement record of institute is very good. I am of the opinion that BITS Pilani is a better option in comparison to VIT for doing B.Tech.
