AMIE (Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers) is considered to be an equivalent to B.Tech or Bachelor of Technology but if you go for AMIE then you might face slight trouble while appearing for job interviews. The AMIE is not a degree course like B.Tech, instead it is just a certification course in which there are two sections and the minimum time to pass both the sections is 4 years, however, in industries AMIE is given a higher preference than B.Tech, but after doing AMIE you cannot apply for teaching field (lectureship in colleges and universities), but after B.Tech your teaching field is also open for you. If you only interested in industry then go for AMIE. If you want to keep your chances open in the teaching field open, then go for B.Tech. In my personal opinion, I would suggest that you to go for B.Tech rather than AMIE because after B.Tech you have much better chances of getting a good job with a decent package in campus placements itself, whereas as far as AMIE is concerned, that might not be the case. Regards.
