Rajkumar, Electrical and Electronics Engineering is one of the core branches of Engineering studies started as Electrical Engineering. Most of the branches like Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Applied Electronics, Electronics and Instrumentation, Information Technology have been emerged as specialization from Electrical Engineering. However, with the wide applications of Electronics in controlling and protecting the Electrical equipments and systems, the course has been renamed as Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The scope of electronics and communication engineer is very high. In communication sector there is huge demand for ECE . One can get offers from IT industry, steel, petroleum and chemical industry. Telecommunication, airlines, defense are also major employers. For ECE student govt jobs are available in large number as compare to CSE/ IT. Electronics & Communication Engineering are in boom and having scope in many industries such as 1. Airport Authority of India Limited. 2. BALCO 3. Indian Railway 4. SAIL 5. BHEL 6. GAIL 7. ONGC 8. IOCL 9. DMRC 10. State Electricity Board 11. Power Grid Corporation of India Limited 12. Software Industries 13. BMRC etc. The main focus of B.Tech in Information technology (IT) is on computers and technology. It differs from Computer Science engineering in the aspect that in this the student is expected to learn management and information theory. It includes a detailed study of programming and of the software computer. During the course of B.Tech IT the student studies the methods to program electronic equipment such that it works according to the instruction given. After completing B.Tech IT the student learns to develop software which is the basic requirement of various software firms. Career options after B.Tech IT are huge. IT Specialists are required in almost all range of employment fields such as finance, arts, medicine, defense, and other areas. Some of the leading IT firms recruiting B.Tech IT are Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Accenture, HCL Infotech, IBM, etc. These professionals can get jobs in many public sector firms like BSNL, ISRO, CDIT, CDAC, etc. The candidates can even try jobs in banking sector. Rest depends upon your interest. B.Tech ECE/ IT are offered by many institutes and colleges in India. After the completion of higher secondary education any aspirant can join any of universities. There is a bright career option after completing the courses.
