With respect to job opportunities, mechanical engineering has an edge over civil engineering because mechanical engineers are required in all types of industries.

Mechanical and civil engineering are both excellent at their distinct places. Civil engineering includes study of subjects like design of steel structures, reinforcement of cement concrete, etc. It deals with the design, construction and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works like roads, dams, buildings, bridges and canals. Whereas, mechanical engineering deals with the subjects like SOM, thermodynamics and engineering dynamics to name a few. It is the branch of physics which covers design, production and operation of machinery. But, if you talk about scope, you should opt for specializations that are highly in demand in computer science engineering. Some of the good engineering colleges/universities are: 1. Lovely Professional University. 2. University of Delhi. 3. Chennai University. 4. UTM – Shillong, etc.

Mechanical engineering is the best option. It is more scope than civil engineering.

Mechanical engineering has better scope than civil engineering. Mechanical engineering has more market demand. So, opt for mechanical branch. Top colleges for B.Tech in ME are: IITs Thapar, Patiala NIIDs UPES, Dehradun DTU, Delhi
