See,In engineering there is no degree like software engineering and hardware engineering. If you are studied for the computer engineering or CS also then you should have to cover entire syllabus because it is design in that fashion, After the completion of degree If you are good in programming then you will be considered as software engineer,and if you are good in Networking and Hardware then you will be considered as hardware engineer. In today's era Software engineer is in full demand but for that you should have to develop your programming skills,also do some certifications
