This decade belongs to electronics and telecommunications. Electronics and telecommunications will continue to impact all walks of life including business. Next wave of industrial revolution is automation and electronics will play a vital role in it. ECE engineers can be employed in all type of industries including IT. Computer science is the facilitating technology for all business and personal activities. Indian IT industry is world’s largest outsourcing hub. Computer science engineering is dominating the job market for last 15 years. Indian computer industry has started showing early sign of decline due to outcry against outsourcing in the western world. Therefore, electronics and telecommunication is the best option with respect to career opportunities and scope. Computer science will continue to the good career option for some time in the field of engineering. You may evaluate Manipal University for doing B.Tech ECE by lateral entry.

As a computer science and engineering student, I would suggest you to go for computer science, as it very interesting and demanding. Everyone will tell you to choose whatever interests you but if you don't know which subject you're interested in or if you're unsure then go for computer science. Cheers.

See, according to your condition, you should opt for the CS as this will benefit for you as you need job right now but if you want a bright future tomorrow then opt for the ECE as this will become a boom in future.

You should definitely go for a UG degree i.e. B.Tech/B.E. Getting a college depends on your Diploma percentage and also, on the seats available in the respective colleges and their cut-offs for direct second year (DSE) entry. You have done Diploma in ECE so better you should choose ECE branch in B.Tech/B.E. You can chose either CSE which depends on your interest and passion. Good luck.
