All three legacy IIM at Ahmadabad, Bangalore and Calcutta have excellent campus placement Ahmadabad as a minor edge over other B-Schools in terms of placement because, it is the No.1 B-School of India with a proven track record and extensive alumni network.

Every one of them is equal in terms of placements, although just my observation A and C seem to get a bit more Fin roles, while B gets a bit more consulting and Gen Man roles, everything else is mostly equal.

All are at par in terms of placements. I would suggest you to look beyond placements to the course structure, methodology to choose between IIM A/B/C and not just placements.

Well, if you've heard for reliable sources like The Hindu or the Economic Times it is true. The salary at the top 3 IIMs are very high. Before I mention the salaries, let me start by saying that there are two types of placements: The Summer Placements: These are internships and salary may range from a few lakhs to even 10,000 per month and is for a period of two to three months. This internship may turn into a full time job based on your performance. Final Placements: The type of job you get depends on your two years you spent at IIM, your grades, your extra-curriculars and internship. Your final placement salary may range from One Crore to 50,000 or so per month and it depends on the IIM you study in also. Here are the median and highest salaries offered to students by companies last year (2015) at IIM-, IIM-B and IIM-C. IIIM-A: Highest salary: 1.38 crore and 70 lakhs as highest international salary Median Salary: Average domestic salary would be about 18 lakhs. IIM-B: Highest salary: Highest domestic salary was 53 lakhs whereas, highest international salary was 73.38 lakhs. Median Salary: Average domestic salary would be about 18-20 lakhs. IIM-C: Highest salary: 33.7 lakhs was the highest salary in 2015. Median Salary: 17-18 lakhs was the median salary last year.
